Firstgear Jaunt Overpants MRV4_B4OMH19
The Jaunt Overpants by FirstGear are for wearing over your street clothes. Theyll give coverage to protect your clothes and to keep you warm and dry. The shell is a solid textile material with a waterproof liner to make them windproof and waterproof. A removable liner adds a layer of insulation to cover the coldest days. *Note:* This Jaunt pant is a solid textile overpant for wet and cooler conditions and are primarily meant to wear over street clothes. If you need a pant or overpant that will comfortable in hot summer months have a look at either the Rover Air or Rush Air pants by FirstGear. The Jaunt Overpants have long zippers up the outside of each leg to about mid-thigh. Those zippers allow you to easily step into/out of the pants which is a nice feature for commuters and touring riders who want to wear a riding pant over their street clothes. The overall fit is pretty relaxed cut and are big enough to fit over your clothes. A couple of nice features as compared to past FirstGear styles are: the waistband has nice wide and effective Velcro adjusters on each side of the waistband; and the closure at the waist is a snap/hook combination that wont pop open under pressure (a frequent gripe of mine with past FG designs). Also, the Jaunt pant removable liner has a size zipper as well so the full side zipper work just as well with the liner in or out. The shell of the Jaunt Overpants is a solid textile design which has a fully waterproof liner. Theyll work to keep out rain and wind. Since the pants are solid textile, they wont move air through for comfort in hot weather, so Id recommend this pant for mild to cold weather, and of course, wet weather too. There are a couple of short zip vents on the thigh that will help vent them a bit, but I wouldnt expect miracles. A separate and removable full thermal liner adds a layer of insulation for winter temps. With the use of the thermal liner, and since youll have these pants over your street clothes, I think these pants will work in very cold weather. Both knee and hip armor inserts are included. The armor is Knox brand which is a well respected brand. Its a garden variety soft rubber energy absorbing kind which is rated CE 1. It is very flexible and should be comfortable to wear. Over the knees, the pants are well reinforced with a double layer of the textile fabric too. Other nice features here: BIG reflective patches on the sides of the legs for nighttime visibility; a short rear connection zipper you can use to connect to a FirstGear jacket OR you can ask your tailor to mount the mating zipper half (included with the pants) into your existing or future jacket to make the connection. Two zip-close pockets are included in the front. The fit is easy and the functionality is there. *FirstGear says:* __Thanks to a 100% polyester mesh, moisture-wicking, and anti-microbial liner, as well as a removable, insulated, full-length liner with color-coded attachment tabs, the Jaunt Overpant is ready for anything from the scorching highs down in Death Valley to the chilly lows atop Pikes Peak. Features an outer shell constructed from water-resistant 600-denier polyester with strategically-place
